A, B, C, D, E, and F are a group of friends. There are two housewives, one professor, one engineer, one accountant and one lawyer in the group. There are only two married couples in the group. The lawyer is married to D, who is a housewife. No woman in the group is either an engineer or an accountant. C, the accountant, is married to F, who is a professor. A is married to a housewife. E is not a housewife.

Here is the reasoning: There are two housewives in the group, so D and one other person are housewives. C is married to F, who is a professor. No woman in the group is either an engineer or an accountant, so C is a man. A is married to a housewife, so A is married to the other housewife. E is not a housewife and is not a man, so E must be an engineer. We know that there are two housewives in the group, and that C is married to F, who is a professor. Therefore, C cannot be a woman, so he must be a man. We also know that A is married to a housewife, and that there are only two housewives in the group. Therefore, A must be married to the other housewife. This leaves E as the only person who is not a housewife or a man. Since we know that E is not a housewife, and that there is only one engineer in the group, then E must be the engineer. Therefore, E's profession is an engineer.
